Event photographer | Chester Races

As an event photographer, when I get an invitation to join a select group of business people for a day out at Chester Races …. well, how can I resist?
The Profile Club (which has featured a great deal on the pages of this blog) hosts a lot of great events for their members, and 2016 marked the addition of a day at the races. To be precise, the opening day of Chester Races. Of course, being as excellent at event management as they are, they’d arranged perfect weather, along with a trackside position in a Festival Chalet, so guests not only got an excellent view of the racing but sumptuous dining too.
My brief was to record events, giving a flavour of the fun and excitement of the day, as well as take some portraits and group shots for posterity (and possibly you’ll see those appear in a glossy lifestyle magazine coming soon).
I’ve covered race meetings before but this was my first visit to Chester Racecourse. My overall impression was how lovely it all was – a charming ground, great staff, fantastic surroundings, and of course a fabulous atmosphere. A bit like the city of Chester, in fact.
Here are a few snippets of what happened.
Looked like the assignment from Hell didn’t it? Well, as they say, it’s a dirty job but someone’s got to do it.
If you’ve got an event coming up that you’d like photographing, whether for PR purposes, or simply as a record of the occasion, please get in touch to discuss it.
