Event photography for the Times Super North Business Supplement
You can’t have gone without hearing about the Northern Powerhouse in the news in the past few months. As a boy growing up in Stockport, I realised that Manchester started being a Northern powerhouse sometime in the early to mid 80s (mostly, in my eyes, with a huge debt of thanks owed to one Anthony H Wilson), but it’s good that the rest of the country has finally caught up!
The Times newspaper has been running a series of business supplements, entitled Super North over the past few months, exploring various aspects of the Northern Powerhouse idea. Last month a lunchtime business seminar was held at Manchester Airport investigating the area of the visitor economy, and yours truly was asked along to photograph the event.
As assignments go, it was very typical of this sort of event: a group shot of the main speakers, individual portraits of them ‘in action’ and some wider shots to show the context (i.e. the room the seminar was held in), and an idea of the numbers attending.
The supplement was published recently, and can be viewed online. And I can now add being published in The Times to my CV!
If you’ve got an event planned, and need photos of it – whether for PR, as a record, or for publication – please get in touch to discuss your requirements. No matter the size or nature of the event, having a record of it is useful for so many different purposes.
