Branding photography for small businesses can be the make or break factor in getting a new venture off the ground.  You want to come flying out of the traps, letting everybody know about you, about what you do, and present a positive, professional image from the start.  As we all know, first impressions count!  And if you make the wrong one, it can take an awfully long time to rectify it.

Here’s an example of the kind of thing I do a lot.  Sam got in touch towards the end of last year.  He was in the process of setting up a new business.  After years working in corporates he was launching himself as a Fractional SFO and part-time FD to businesses.  He wanted some portraits from me that would present the right impression i.e. friendly, professional and approachable.  (All the things he was when we met – so it didn’t make my job difficult at all!)

We had a chat about the kind of thing he was after then arranged a time and place to meet.  It was that simple!  A photoshoot later, he was in possession of a number of photos like the ones below, for populating his website and for putting out on social media.

Branding photography gives any business the opportunity to tell their own story.  In Sam’s case, this included the resonance of including the table you can see in the first shot.  It was the table from which his own dad ran the family farming business for years, and is now part of the next chapter of the family history.  Which is rather beautiful isn’t it?

If you’d like to find out more about Sam’s story, or chat to him about his business and what he offers, you can find him at http://stamfordcfo.com/

Of course, you don’t have to be starting out in business to benefit from a range of branding portraits. You might want to freshen up your marketing, or have just gone through a rebrand. Wherever you are in your business’s journey, you can benefit from images that get across your own stories, values and attributes.
